Mama's New Toy!

Last night I bit the bullet and bought a Digital SLR camera! I got the Canon Rebel XTI that I've been looking at for months. Best Buy had a great deal on it, so we went for it! It is a lot of camera and I have TONS to learn, but can't wait! That will be my summer project! For now, I'm just going to have to play around and see what I can figure out on my own. Avery let me try it out a little on her today and was a goos sport, but eventually she had enough so we quit. If only she knew she doesn't have to back to Target for pics again, she would be so happy!

New Exersaucer!

Last weekend Avery got a new exersaucer! She loves it! She can't ever decide which toy she wants to play with, so she will start with one, and crank her little neck around to see the next one, and then want to go back to the other one. So many decisions! She can't really get her footing well enough to spin herself yet, so mom and dad have to help, but when she can, look out!

First Cereal!

So this is a week late, as we started last Sunday, but this is the first chance I've had to post these pics. She loved it! I can't wait to try fruits and veggies with her. So exciting! What a big girl!

Our First Walk

The weather finally decided to warm up just a little today, so we decided to go for our first walk. It was still a little chilly, so we got all bundled up and pretty much just cruised around the block, but the fresh air and sunshine was nice for all of us.

Mom!! I Need My Bumper Back!

Avery has broke her habit of sleeping swaddled, and she can now sleep free! So this morning when I went in after her morning nap, this is how I found her in her crib. She had rolled over, but somehow gotten her legs between the crib slats so she couldn't roll back. So we had taken the bumper out when she was swaddled because she would get right up next to it and couldn't move away. Well now that she is strong enough to move and roll (obviously) I think it is high time to get that bumper back on. Poor girl! Also, note the bald spot in the back of her head...she is losing that baby hair, but only in the back. New stuff is starting to come in, but for now the back of her head kind of resembles a little old man. We do think she pulls it off quite well though, and is cute as ever! Okay, we're off to get that bumper on asap!

Nurse Avery!

Avery spent the day at Nana's to help take care of Uncle Jeff, who had is wisdom teeth out today. From what I hear, Avery was a very good nurse and took good care of her uncle!

Happy Baby Day!

I'm calling today Baby Day at our house! It is a special day for us. One year ago today, April 9, we found out that we would be having a baby! With a million excited, elated, anxious thoughts swirling around in our minds, we could hardly believe it was real and we were going to parents. Now, here we are a year later blessed with the most beautiful, wonderful, sweet, happy little girl and our lives are forever changed. It is absolutely amazing what can happen in a year! Happy Baby Day to us!

Avery got a duck that does the chicken dance from Nana for Easter and it is definitely her very best friend! She can't get enough of it. She loves to talk to her friend, give it hugs and try to eat it's beak. Here are a few moments between Avery and her duck. Aww...

New Highchair!

Well Avery is 5 months old now, and we are getting ready to start eating solids here very soon! Yea...what a big girl! So I just had to bring up her high chair tonight and try her out. It is a the Space Saver high chair so it goes on a regular chair, and then when she is bigger it turn into a booster seat. We don't have it on the chair yet, since I was just trying it out and it was just us girls at home. It is just on the floor for now, but she looks like such a big girl in it! Crazy how fast the time really goes.

Mom, I think you're forgetting a piece. Isn't there supposed to be a tray? So this big white thing is the tray...gotcha...now where is my food?

Under The Weather

No new pics this week..the Bahn family has been a bit under the weather. Poor Avery has a nasty cold and ear infections and has been on a few different meds to try to find one that will make her feel better :( Though she does seem a bit better today, so hopefully she is on her way back to her normal, happy self again. Cullen and I also got the flu this week too...so no fun here, but we are feeling better. Avery did manage to avoid that one though, thank goodness. We have had lots of good help from Nana, Grandpa and Uncle Jeff, though I guess Jeff and Grandpa are sick now, so we feel pretty bad. We were lucky to have them help this week. So hopefully we can share some more fun, new pics of her next week. When she was feeling well at the beginning of the week, she has been a rolling machine and we spend lots of our time playing "flip the baby" when she gets over one way and then gets stuck and can't get back and gets mad. It is pretty funny! Let's hope she feels better in a hurry!
